From the 1980s Lucy worked as a fund manager and director of an international investment bank specialising in Japanese derivative products. During this time she took an active interest in studying and collecting fine 17th century furniture and 20th century art.

Towards the end of the 1990s Lucy left the financial world to pursue her interest in unusual 17th century furniture. She followed the route of individual statement stands at the Olympia Fine Art and Antiques Fairs, together with specialised exhibitions at the Merchants House Museum and her showrooms in Burford. Lucy’s business has grown from these beginnings to include rare and unusual Continental furniture from the 16th century as well as 20th century art. She is a member of the BADA, CINOA and LAPADA.
