From an early age Craig had a passion for finding and collecting objects of historical and antique interest. Of Irish descent, he was born in Melbourne, Australia. Educated in Oxfordshire, his first full time appointment was with a well known firm of jewellers. By the age of 18 he had become a valuer and cataloguer with a local firm of auctioneers but, with a great aptitude for business, his true vocation was that of an antique dealer.

Craig has run the business of Finch and Co in partnership with his wife, Jan, for the past eighteen years. A member of the BADA and CINOA, Finch and Co is renowned for its eclectic and unusual stock of European works of art, ethnographica, antiquities and curious items of natural history. The firm is based in London, and deals exclusively by appointment between exhibiting at antique shows such as the Olympia International Art and Antiques Fair, The Grosvenor House Art and Antiques Fair, The San Francisco Fall Antiques Show and the Tour and Taxis Antiques and Fine Arts Fair of Belgium. Finch and Co produces a catalogue, written and designed by the partners, and its bi-annual publication is now eagerly awaited by collectors across the world.
